Napa Safari

Nestled in the heart of Wine country, there is a private park - Safari West. A ranger drives you around, and you are surrounded by wild African animals - all herbivores - moving around freely. It's better than a zoo, but a bit overpriced. Kids are guaranteed to have fun.

It's a good opportunity to try out some animal photography as well.

You can click on any image to start a slideshow.

This is a prize shot.

This Oryx can be a mean animal with those long  deadly horns.

Gazelle.

The guide told us many stories about how these buffaloes can be revengeful. Do not mess with them.

The giraffes and the zebras were very comfortable around people.

The monkeys are of course in the cage.
