ASAD - 10

Some Sher require, a few seconds of attentive thinking - after you hear the Sher - to grasp the meaning. And then you smile, in understanding! To achieve this effect, a clever device is used. That is to omit any explicit reference of what one wants to say !!

kuchaa - street ("gali")
shanaasa - acquainted

isi kuche me kaiN, uske shanaasa rehate haiN
wo kisi aur se milane ke bahaane aaye

- Parveen Shakir

Once you understand the hidden complaint, which the "Shayara" (a female shayar) is making ; then you will like this Sher.

- Abhay.

ASAD _also_ stands for "A Sher A Day" !
